I looked at the code and tried with an older version (21.12.0), but can not see
that Kdenlive rembered the previously set path of the render output. It rather
used either the custom project folder location (in case it was set, like you
showed in your screen recording) or alternatively the location set in
"Settings" > "Environment" > "Folder for titles, scripts".
However the system got some improvements recently. You can now configure better
which folder is used in "Settings" > "Environment". These improvments will be
in version 22.12 and you can already try them with the nightly version. I hope
this helps. Feel free to reopen this report in case anything is still missing
or the problem shows up again.
