ok, the kernel problem seems gone, the system mostly works, BUT i still
sporadically get the issue.
But at least now there is a bit more info:
Oct 01 12:39:33 primero xdg-desktop-portal-kde[737]: This application failed to
start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the
application may fix this problem.
Available platform plugins
are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, vnc, wayland-egl, wayland,
wayland-xcomposite-egl, wayland-xcomposite-glx, xcb.
