It might be doable, but would be a huge change, and discussions gave little hope that it would be welcome, so I went back to okular-1.2. Hence I'm delighted to see another take. The idea to keep pristine okular, and store/apply the diff (tail) of the annotated files looks clever ! Did I read correctly that the pdf files have to be writable, and thus temporarily modified, which I don't want (I want a pure viewer) ?
