based on your suggestions, I investigated the XDG portal affair and
consequently:
- found another Discord client having support for it (webcord)
- enabled the "enable-webrtc-pipewire-capturer" flag in chromium based browser
in order to have screen sharing working. Other issues arose then, but that's
for other reports.
I'll leave this here in the hope it will guide other users looking for this
issue on the web.
