I recommend also to look also how Clementine merge metadata when editing audio track properties. https://clementine-player.github.io/pages/images//screenshots/clementine-0.7-3.png If you select more than one tracks to edit properties, a change somewhere will be applied to all tracks as well with a smart merge operation if field already exists in metadata.
