"If we have a folder full of folders from top to bottom how can we drop something besides them that doesn't go into any of the folders?" The reply to this was: "Windows works around this is that the columns end at the right hand side so there is an empty space where the highlight ends and you can drop the files there and it will be put into the containing folder" This fixes the issue of using drag and drop in a folder that itself is full.
