Agree. The highlight effect could be more obvious. Let's use this bug report to
track the issue.

IIRC this is an X11-specific problem; it works fine for me on Wayland. Let's
get a separate bug report for this.

Ctrl+F works for me on Wayland, but I can reproduce that the up arrow key won't
