A Plasma panel seems to be fine. However, as soon as there is an application window on the disconnected output, I get this crash. In my regular work setup I would always have windows on the output because it's my main monitor; I'm now testing this in a road warrior setting with a projector, and here I can reproducibly crash KWin by putting a window on the projector and then disconnecting it, while the projector disconnects just fine as long as there is no window there. It seems like KWin tries to redraw the windows on the lost output by placing them on the remaining outputs, and that the crash happens during the recalculation of the placement coordinates.
