This was done intentionally, as reordering columns is something that you don't
really do often and the entire table can now be changed as part of a single
action. We don't intend to change how this works.
Personally I would actually greatly prefer it if more applications moved away
from the drag ordering, as I find it quite awkward to use and it is not
discoverable at all.
