I can confirm this issue, I have both intel graphics and nvidia, but plasma
runs on the intel card. I am also on arch linux.
In addition to the behavior listed, sometimes the desktop also just stays black
and there will only be rendering within a buffer around open windows. and
taskbar widgets. Meta + D to the desktop fixes it immediately, presumably since
it triggers a redraw.
If I sleep my laptop by closing the lid and opening it, I can actually see the
black background issue before even SDDM opens up (I think that is another bug,
as for privacy/security concerns you shouldn't be able to get a glimpse of
plasma on resume before SDDM takes over).
Note that I am running both SDDM and plasma on Wayland.
