For desktop widgets I just looked and found it was actually fixed thanks to Marco Martin in https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-desktop/-/merge_requests/385, included in 5.22. Are there still problems on Plasma 5.22 and later with desktop widgets moving around after resolution changes?
