Not sure if this is related, because I use  Bluez, but I tried  also this
(without success):
I start daeamon with experimental function like this:
ExecStart=/usr/lib/bluetooth/bluetoothd -E

And in configuration file: /etc/bluetooth/main.conf I have line:
Experimental = true
in section "General"
