The GPS tags GPSLatitudeRef and GPSLongitudeRef are written on cameras with
built-in GPS, tested here on a quick test with images from a Nikon D5300 and
Panasonic TZ10. I also see the two GPS tags in the ExifTool output. The post
from the ExifTool Forum is 6 years old. Are you possibly using an outdated
version of ExifTool?
