Can reproduce with Wayland-native Thunderbird. However this is almost 100%
certainly a Thunderbird bug--or rather, a bug in the XUL UI toolkit that it
uses. Most likely these combobox popups are implemented as small standalone
windows anr are not setting the right Wayland flags to be marked as menus. Can
you report it downstream at
