Bug ID: 450695 Summary: Clumsy animation when launching a new app in a small and centered plasma-panel (dock) Product: plasmashell Version: 5.23.5 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Panel Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: n_s_mend...@hotmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 147039 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=147039&action=edit Screen recording when the bugs happen. Hard to see: look at the right side of the panel. SUMMARY *** The animation of the panel is clumsy when it increases its size to make space for a new task icon. The augmented size first appears as an empty space and then only widgets realign properly. It happens within a second. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set up plasma-panel to be smaller than screen width, and in my case centered. Like a dock. 2. Place icon-only task-manager on the left, and then other widgets on the right (in my case: latte-separator, show desktop, simple pager and present-windows-button) 3. Launch an app that is not yet present on the task manager OBSERVED RESULT The animation when launching an app that is not yet present on the task manager is clumsy. EXPECTED RESULT The animation would be smooth and not look like a bug.
