As you mentioned this is fixed in newer version. However we can not fix bugs in
older versions, especially in distro packages. If you want to use latest bug
fixes and features we recommend to use (on Linux) Appimage, Flatapak or PPA
from the official download page: https://kdenlive.org/download/
