            Bug ID: 450091
Summary: Window size of applications like Dolphin and Konsole
are not saved/restored when moved to primary screen
           Product: kwin
           Version: 5.24.0
          Platform: Kubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: multi-screen
          Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: d...@luniks.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When operating in multi-screen, new windows of for example Dolphin and Konsole
are usually placed on the secondary screen instead of the primary screen. When
moving the window to the primary screen, adjusting the size and closing the
window, the size is not restored when opening a new window.
When adjusting the size before moving the window to the primary screen, the
size is restored after closing the window and opening a new window.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect an external screen. In my setup the external screen is primary and
to the right of the laptop
2. Open a new instance of for example Dolphin or Konsole. In my case, the
window is usually placed on the secondary (left) laptop screen.
3. Move the window to the primary (right) screen, adjust its size and close it
4. Open a new window of the application. The previously adjusted size is not
restored
5. Adjust the size, close the window or move it to the secondary screen and
then close it
6. Again open a new window of the application. The previously adjusted size is
now restored

OBSERVED RESULT

The manually adjusted size is not restored (when the window is moved to the
primary (or generally another?) screen before adjusting the size)

EXPECTED RESULT

The window size should always be restored
