Addendum:

Aha! I just found out why this happens. I have "Double-click to open files and
folders" enabled in Mouse Controls (Desktop Settings). This interferes with the
behavior of the Add Folder dialog.

So if I change to "Single-click to open files and folders" the dialog works as
expected. Apparently the rename mechanism has priority over the open folder
mechanism. However, I want to have the double-click function in other places so
I don't want to switch.

Is it possible to fix it so that the double-click-to-rename mechanism is
disabled if the "Double-click to open files and folders" is enabled? You can
still rename folders using the F2 key if that is really what you want.
