Bug ID: 449422 Summary: Add overwrite smaller file (Overwrite by size) Product: dolphin Version: 21.12.1 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: tygal...@gmail.com CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 146106 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=146106&action=edit Overwrite dialog showing the available options (no overwrite by size) SUMMARY There are times when coping files in dolphin that it finds files with the same names and asks the action to take. The overwrite options available are "Overwrite" and "Overwrite Older Files". This is great until you are copying files and midway the operation stops and you have a half-written file, you either have to recopy everything or risk having a half copied file as it will match on dates STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Copy a directory to an empty location 2. Copy the same directory over the previous destination 3. Cancel midway copying a large file 4. Will ask action to take OBSERVED RESULT There is no option to overwrite by file size, to allow only overwriting the half-written file and missing files EXPECTED RESULT Overwrite by size, so that one does not have to recopy everything SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Given that dolphin first creates folders, tracking these half-written files then becomes impossible especially for large file sets -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
