As you can see from the tooltip when hovering the disabled checkbox, "MLT must be compiled with rubberband library to enable pitch correction". If your distro does not offer such version of Kdenlive, you should either: – Use another packaging type like Appimage or Flatpak as @emohr said. They both have mlt build with rubberband – Compile mlt with rubberband your self.
