Just built KWin from source today and now notifications steal focus when they
appear. If I am in the middle of typing something when a notification appears,
keyboard input is lost because it suddenly gets sent to the notification, which
can't handle it. Once the notification times out or is closed, focus returns to
the app.
This happens for all apps tested, including GTK and Electron apps, so it does
not seem to be an issue in any particular UI toolkit's stack.
