[kdenlive] [Bug 447542] SUMMARY I've recently had issues where the software starts to make a really irritating audio bug, while itself won't cause any major problems with the software, it is really annoying, and is quite odd since I did nothing to my knowledge that caused this.

This is indeed interesting. WinMM is for the Win7 audio backend. Could you make
a test? On which of the 2 other audio backends you get the crackling:
DirectSound or Wasapi.
