So If I understand you correct you would like to select all "loose" pictures in the timeline and either you can change the duration in 1 go or you can drag the bunch of loose pictures to fill curtain gab which adjusting the duration of each pictures. All this is only possible if you create a "image sequence" first: https://docs.kdenlive.org/en/importing_and_assets_management/projects_and_files/clips.html?highlight=sequence#image-sequence-clips .
