Bug ID: 445200 Summary: Exiting from various effects (eg Overview, Present Windows, Desktop Grid) to same window does not properly restore focus to the window Product: kwin Version: git master Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: effects-window-management Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: bharadwaj.raju...@protonmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 143367 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=143367&action=edit Screenshot of a not fully focused window SUMMARY When opening some effects (Overview, Present Windows, Desktop Grid) and then exiting back to that same window which was focused when the effect was opened, the window which should have focus does not have it. Focus is only given to it when user presses a key (which the app doesn't seem to receive), or switching to some other window and back again. STEPS TO REPRODUCE (Overview) 1. Have a window focused 1. Open Overview 2. Search for the window from step 1 (the typing is important as it seems to "give" the effect focus) 3. Click to activate it Note that this does not work if you activate a window different from the one which was focused in step 1. If a different window is selected then focus is restored properly. --- STEPS TO REPRODUCE (Present Windows & Desktop Grid) 1. Have a window focused 2. Open Present Windows / Desktop Grid using the keyboard shortcut 3. Click on the window from step 1 Same note as with Overview. OBSERVED RESULT Window is not fully focused. Titlebar has active focus color, but the rest of the app is not focused. This can be seen in the colors (screenshot attached) and the behavior. EXPECTED RESULT Window should be fully focused. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is on Wayland. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
