As it seems, the program "Ding" (a dictionary) may be involved somehow. So far
all logouts under 5.21.4 and 5.20.5 succeeded when Ding was not running. Ding
uses tcl/tk and runs in a process named "wish".

I became aware of Ding's potential role in this matter when I wanted to
manually save a session in 5.18.7: the moment I clicked on "Logout", Ding's
icon in the taskbar vanished and the desktop hung. That was practically
identical to what I have already reported for versions >5.18 with automatically
saved sessions. I then tried to manually save a session whithout Ding running
and that succeeded. Automatically saved sessions always succeed in 5.18.7,
irrespective of Ding running or not.

Ding was always on autostart, so it was running whenever I experienced a freeze
on logout in versions > 5.18.

After updating Ding to the latest version (1.9) I startet it under
Plasma-5.20.5 and logged out which was OK. On a second try and after using the
PC for a while, however, the desktop hung as already described. I checked for
process "wish" but that had obviously been terminated. I then had to kill
"startplasma-x11" to be able to log into Plasma again. After a while a
crash-report came up. There was a hint that said that the information gathered
is probably useless but I attached it anyway.
