Ohh, right. This was an intentional change to actually fix a bug; see

I understand that you were previously relying and enjoying the bug that cause
icons to be too large. :) However this was never the design goal, and now the
bug has been fixes so you are seeing the size that these icons were always
supposed to be displayed at. :)
Hopefully you can increase the size of your panel/dock if you want the icons to
be bigger.
