Face detection is not an option especially for faces photographed from the side an d faces which are relativ small in photos with higher definitions. To reinstall the behaviour is not a problem, as there is an option to do/do not/ask for apply operations on groups. If you group RAW and Jpeg by name you have double work converning faces (ungrouping, set rectangle for any format, regrouping).
