Bug ID: 439653 Summary: Global theme splash screen not restored after reverting to Breeze Dark/Twilight from a custom Global Theme Product: plasmashell Version: 5.22.3 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Theme - Breeze Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org Reporter: andrea.i...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY When reverting to Breeze Dark or Breeze Twilight global themes after having applied a custom theme providing a custom splash screen (such as, for example Ant-Dark KDE: https://www.pling.com/p/1464332), the splash screen is not reverted. I suspect that this is because: /usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/contents/ is the only default theme that provides a "splash" subfolder, hence only by applying this one, the user can go back to seeing the default KDE splash screen. And then any Breeze variant, like Dark or Twilight, can be applied, since now the default splash screen has been restored already. While the workaround is not hard and the issue itself is not severe, it might be intimidating for first-time users/customizers to see that KDE is not able to FULLY revert the changes they might have done just to experiment for a short period. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Apply a custom global theme providing a custom splash screen, like https://www.pling.com/p/1464332 2. Revert to Breeze Dark or Breeze Twilight global themes OBSERVED RESULT Splash screen stays the one of the previously applied custom Global Theme EXPECTED RESULT Splash screen should have been reverted to the Breeze default, for consistency and to reassure the user that the previous configuration is fully reverted. Operating System: Kubuntu 21.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.11.0-22-generic OS Type: 64-bit Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-11300H @ 3.10GHz Memory: 7,5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Xe Graphics I noticed this other bug 414417 as RESOLVED FIXED on 5.21.3, but it's evidently not the case, at least not on my Kubuntu 21.04. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
