SUMMARY
After installing Kate on MacOS (Big Sur, 11.4), I am not able to run the
program. A warning message appears, saying "kate.app can’t be opened because
Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be
updated. Contact the developer for more information."
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download newest release from
https://binary-factory.kde.org/view/MacOS/job/Kate_Release_macos/
2. Install
3. Attempt to open
OBSERVED RESULT
Warning message: "kate.app can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for
malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer
for more information."
