I can confirm this as described for the 4.4.x appimages and the Jun 08
5.0.0-prealpha (git 8944b0f) appimage.
I can make it happen if I use a stylus tap to set opacity and then tap another
layer, at which I'm fast enough, but not by mouse clicking which is too slow.
