A possible thing to look at is whether the modified and changed times that balooshow gives for your testfile.txt (the Mtime and Ctime), match those that stat gives (Modify and Change times). I'm guessing you've purged the database and started "from zero". Does the same thing happen if you create a new user? Could there be any confusion caused by symbolic links within your $HOME?
