I have a screen with the same resolution and I'm using the same scale factor.
:) That would be the cause of the icons being too small on X11, which you can
fix by setting PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING=1 in your environment and restarting
Plasma, if you're willing to live with mixed-DPI screen setups being completely
broken.
However none of this would cause the icon to not re-color itself. :/
