Bug ID: 436836 Summary: Plasma crash on ejecting USB stick Product: plasmashell Version: 5.20.5 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: drkonqi Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: m...@stantoncentral.co.uk CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Application: plasmashell (5.20.5) Qt Version: 5.15.2 Frameworks Version: 5.79.0 Operating System: Linux 5.11.18-200.fc33.x86_64 x86_64 Windowing system: X11 Distribution: "Fedora release 33 (Thirty Three)" -- Information about the crash: I was ejecting a USB stick from the "Disks & Devices" panel accessed from the icon area in the start bar. The stick has two partitions on it, a total of 8Gb (I think). Ejecting the first partitiion caused this crash. To check a second time I ejected the second partition, which didn't cause a crash. I then removed the stick and re-inserted it. This time only one partition showed. In order to finish this bug report, rather than try to reinstate the second partition I simply ejected the first partition, which again caused Plasma to crash. The crash can be reproduced every time. -- Backtrace: Application: Plasma (plasmashell), signal: Segmentation fault [KCrash Handler] #4 0x00007fb82f82125d in Solid::StorageAccess::filePath() const () from /lib64/libKF5Solid.so.5 #5 0x00007fb7f834dee9 in KSolidNotify::onSolidReply(KSolidNotify::SolidReplyType, Solid::ErrorType, QVariant const&, QString const&) () from /usr/lib64/qt5/plugins/plasma/dataengine/plasma_engine_devicenotifications.so #6 0x00007fb82d791386 in void doActivate<false>(QObject*, int, void**) () from /lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #7 0x00007fb82f81228f in Solid::OpticalDrive::ejectDone(Solid::ErrorType, QVariant, QString const&) () from /lib64/libKF5Solid.so.5 #8 0x00007fb82f819fa9 in Solid::OpticalDrive::qt_static_metacall(QObject*, QMetaObject::Call, int, void**) () from /lib64/libKF5Solid.so.5 #9 0x00007fb82d7913c0 in void doActivate<false>(QObject*, int, void**) () from /lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #10 0x00007fb82f80c716 in Solid::Backends::UDisks2::OpticalDrive::qt_static_metacall(QObject*, QMetaObject::Call, int, void**) () from /lib64/libKF5Solid.so.5 #11 0x00007fb82f80cca3 in Solid::Backends::UDisks2::OpticalDrive::qt_metacall(QMetaObject::Call, int, void**) () from /lib64/libKF5Solid.so.5 #12 0x00007fb82e06ffd9 in QDBusConnectionPrivate::deliverCall(QObject*, int, QDBusMessage const&, QVector<int> const&, int) () from /lib64/libQt5DBus.so.5 #13 0x00007fb82d789d1e in QObject::event(QEvent*) () from /lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #14 0x00007fb82e3d8ec3 in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper(QObject*, QEvent*) () from /lib64/libQt5Widgets.so.5 #15 0x00007fb82d761bd8 in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal2(QObject*, QEvent*) () from /lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #16 0x00007fb82d7648c7 in QCoreApplicationPrivate::sendPostedEvents(QObject*, int, QThreadData*) () from /lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #17 0x00007fb82d7aec27 in postEventSourceDispatch(_GSource*, int (*)(void*), void*) () from /lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #18 0x00007fb82bc76a9f in g_main_context_dispatch () from /lib64/libglib-2.0.so.0 #19 0x00007fb82bcc8a98 in g_main_context_iterate.constprop () from /lib64/libglib-2.0.so.0 #20 0x00007fb82bc73e73 in g_main_context_iteration () from /lib64/libglib-2.0.so.0 #21 0x00007fb82d7ae6f3 in QEventDispatcherGlib::processEvents(QFlags<QEventLoop::ProcessEventsFlag>) () from /lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #22 0x00007fb82d76057b in QEventLoop::exec(QFlags<QEventLoop::ProcessEventsFlag>) () from /lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #23 0x00007fb82d7681b4 in QCoreApplication::exec() () from /lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #24 0x0000556f2b3407ca in main () [Inferior 1 (process 1786) detached] Possible duplicates by query: bug 436765, bug 436764, bug 436664, bug 436640, bug 436397.
