--- Comment #6 from martr...@yahoo.com --- Respectfully, almost and certainly are never congruent. This issue began with the installation of 18.04 on a machine where 16.04 was rock solid. There have been no hardware changes. 18.04 is currently listed on kde.org as LTS until 04/2021. The issue is real, repetitive and clearly related to installation of software. My policy on OS is to avoid the newest because of issues just like this...if it ain't broke... Currently I am using Nouveau b/c Nvidia proprietary driver is plagued with hourly freeze ups. On 16.04, the instability was more pronounced with Nouveau and I could only use Nvidia.
