Bug ID: 429529 Summary: Bar resizes if contents are too long and never resize back Product: lattedock Version: 0.9.11 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com Reporter: k...@jan.limpens.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 133574 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=133574&action=edit The resized, cropping bar SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add a bar (not a dock) to a screen with small width 2. Add menu 3. Open app with lots of menu entries (like libreoffice) 4. Open different app with regular number of entries OBSERVED RESULT On step three latte tries to better fit its contents by changing its ratio. What was 30px by 1024px now becomes 15px by 1024px, cropping the menu bar's content. The Window Buttons Plasmoid actually resizes and become so small it almost cannot be used. Window Title Plasmoid and Global Menu (Latte) get cropped, so that only the vertical middle is visible. text size does not change, so the whole thing is completely useless as the menu bar does not gain any horizontal space. When I switch to a different app, which' menu bar easily fits the available width, the ratio does not switch back and the bar remains too small and unusable. I assume this is dock behaviour that does not make sense in a bar world. EXPECTED RESULT The bar should remain at the same height always, overflowing contents should crop, maybe offering some ellipse functionality.
