I'm unfamiliar with the RYB colormode, but I think the difference b/w existing
color modes and what Jo is describing is in how the colors present themselves
to artists. This is a bit difficult because it is unlike how most graphics apps
handle colors.

Off the top of my head, I can think of a few ways to do this, but none of them
can be like true pigment mixing, which I've thought about a bit. I don't want
to speak too soon (without more digging into RYB), but briefly... 

One option would be an approach using various blending modes in brush strokes,
but that's either too complicated to think about as an artist or too deeply
integrated in the software to implement. 

Another option would be an RYB color mode in the "Artistic Color Selector", but
would function a bit differently than the other color modes (it would need to
be limited to the Docker). 

Anyways, I googled real quick and I found this paper which should elaborate
more.
