Tymond, I am going to argue from logic without appealing to the comparison with
Ps.
Please, I don't want to be misunderstood, I use krita precisely because of all
the differences it presents with Ps. I encourage my students and fellow
illustrators to try the program and a few years ago I gave a conference at the
University of La Plata about krita.
Focusing on the selection tool, we know that it is useful for working in a
specific area. When I select an area, everything I do exclusively affects that
place: curves, levels, paint, fill, etc ...
When I press ctrl + shift + j I can cut the selection but I cannot duplicate.
To duplicate I must do the following steps: duplicate the layer - use the
selection tool - invert selection - delete.
I am attaching an Addon that Wojtek Trybus made, I used it to replace the ctrl
+ j function.
