Focusing on the selection tool, we know that it is useful for working in a specific area. When I select an area, everything I do exclusively affects that place: curves, levels, paint, fill, etc ... When I press ctrl + shift + j I can cut the selection but I cannot duplicate. To duplicate I must do the following steps: duplicate the layer - use the selection tool - invert selection - delete.
