            Bug ID: 427914
Summary: Kinfo File Indexer Monitor takes lot of CPU when
                    indexing is disabled
           Product: kinfocenter
           Version: 5.20.0
          Platform: Neon Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: NOR
         Component: File Indexer Monitor
          Assignee: stefan.bru...@rwth-aachen.de
          Reporter: p...@7gods.org
                CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

system load when viewing the file indexer tab

SUMMARY
The tab in Kinfo showing status of File Indexer takes 50%+ CPU load even when
showing just "File Indexer is not running" with button "Start File Indexer".
(that is 50%+ on *all* 16 cores of AMD Ryzen 7)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. disable file indexing service
2. launch kinfo - normal ~0% CPU usage, showing version of KDE
3. switch to File Indexer Monitor = half the CPU used for "nothing"

OBSERVED RESULT
~35% CPU is used by process kinfocenter

EXPECTED RESULT
~0-1% CPU usage would be expected, when it just reports that the file indexing
is not running

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.20
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
kernel: 5.9.1-050901-generic

CPU: 16x AMD Ryzen 7 4800H
