I can't reproduce this either, even when starting dolphin from Steam.
Please do the following:
$> strace -eclone,execve,openat --follow-forks -p <dolphin-PID>
You can redirect the output to a file with "-o dolphin.log".
Then wait for > 30 seconds, waitForFinished should timeout then.
