            Bug ID: 422720
Summary: Numerous network error dialogs prevent continued uses
                    of the wallpaper download interface
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.19.0
          Platform: Archlinux Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Image Wallpaper
          Assignee: notm...@gmail.com
          Reporter: lilyd...@gmail.com
                CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

Well, my Internet connectivity isn't anywhere near good, but I do not expect
such an experience when the network is slow.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right click on the desktop, choose to change wallpaper
2. Choose to get new wallpapers
3. Browse

OBSERVED RESULT

At some point I get about half a hundred popups saying "Socket operation timed
out". I have to click to close each of them before continuing viewing whatever
has been loaded. They'll appear again some time later after I've closed all of
them (yes I counted how many popups I've closed).

EXPECTED RESULT

The transient network error reports shouldn't be modal, blocking further
operations from user, especially don't show lots of them. Maybe a closable
message bar with a counter showing how many errors have occurred so far, like
what browser consoles do with lots of repeated errors.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.1
Qt Version: 5.15.0
