Bug ID: 422530 Summary: Lockups make digikam unuseable Product: digikam Version: 7.0.0 Platform: MS Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: stephen.j.hil...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Digikam 7.0.0 Beta 3 results in a lot of lock-ups (white screen, spinning wheel). This was sometimes an issue with 6.4 but not as bad. Digikam has become unusable now. In addition, sometimes I can edit photos but the editor can't export to a network share (can export to local SSD OK though) Closing down Digikam always resolves the issue (system returns to normal operation, no more lockups, photo editors can export to network share OK) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Using a photo editor prior to opening Digikam works fine. 2. Start Digikam. 3. As long as no other applications are open, I can browse photos in DigiKam, set tags etc. 4. If I "open with" in Digikam to open the photo in DxO Photolab or Capture One and then export the photo, the export fails from both editors if the export is to the same directory as one of the digikam albums (which are all on network shares). If I export to the local SSD that is not a Digikam album, the export works. 5. If I then open windows explorer and try to view a directory containing images in a digikam album, the computer locks up (white screen, spinning wheel). It sometimes comes back after a few minutes, but then locks up again if I explore another directory. 6. If I shut down Digikam (close task via task manager) , everything returns to normal. OBSERVED RESULT Multiple issues - DxO Photolab or Capture 1 fail when exporting photos to a network share that is a digikam album. - Explorer locks up when opening a network share that is a digikam album. EXPECTED RESULT - DxO Photolab or Capture 1 export photos successfully - Explorer opens directories successfully. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Windows 10 Pro ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - PC running Digikam is a Windows 10 PC with 256G SSD and 16GB RAM - Photos are located on a server PC running Windows Home Server (based on Windows Server 2008R2) and using standard windows file sharing. - PC running Digikam has the P: drive mapped to a network share containing photos on the home server. - PC running Digikam has the digikam database stored on a local SSD. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
