Bug ID: 421689 Summary: FTP bug that has never changed, applies to all Linux platforms, stale icon selection status Product: dolphin Version: unspecified Platform: unspecified OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: view-engine: icons mode Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: charl.xa...@gmail.com CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 128550 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=128550&action=edit screenshot of how an old folder shows as selected after copying a file into the main FTP view When using Dolphin to FTP files, the last icon that was selected/copied/moved remains selected. This has the undesired effect of assuming a file would be dropped inside the active (selected) directory, where in fact all is fine; however, I find myself often clicking in the blank area -just to make sure. Often there would be multiple selected (stale status) items in the FTP view. I have often mistakenly assumed selections and made mistakes during split-view operations while working and this causes issues. This is NOT only in split-view though, but this is where one could make dangerous assumptions when working long hours. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open Dolphin in split-view 2. open an FTP location on either side 3. select a folder in FTP side, or drag+drop one into it from local disk 4. drag+drop another item from any other place into FTP view 5. see how the old selected icons remain focused in the FTP view OBSERVED RESULT Old selections remain focused in FTP view when copying/moving EXPECTED RESULT Only the last copied/moved item(s) should be focused (selected) after such action(s) completed.
