For a long time i was not able to send messages until i saw that in kmail > configuration > counts > send > select the smtp send count (by default) "server ask for authentication" was not selected and the boxes were not filled ! After regularize that, i could send messages ! Many years i'm using kmail and i don't understand why all these issues, why authentication field had change "without" any intervention of us on kmail !
