Sure you're facing *this* bug then? The particular problem is caused by clients
(cssh in this very case) sending future timestamps around (causing a failure in
grabs and pastes)
The netbeans bug is largely different (depite also concerning timestamps) -
it's just extremely picky about the timestamp in a "legacy" focus distribution
protocol and seems to require sync action. That does not (necessarily) mean it
would /use/ wrong timestamps (but actually rather operate on XCB_CURRENT_TIME
only)

Unless debian picked the patch in comment #28, I'd rather say you picked up a
fixed clusterssh version. There's nothing but kwin that could impact this on
this end. If copy & paste (in Qt5 clients) isn't broken anymore either, it's
pretty certain that the cssh fix hit your disk.

It's not "esoteric" but actually the principal X11 design. Synchronous action
is just a special case.
