In Preview mode or Media Player mode, F5 reloads the current item. I'm rather
unwilling to read the thumbnails in the background and search for new items. If
you really make many external changes, you can also enable the automatic
updates with all their possible disadvantages. You will find the option in the
digiKam setup under collection.
