I guess you're not using atomic mode setting. That's an edge case nowadays. Did
you set the variable at one point or is it just not supported on your hardware?
Would you be able to compile KWin to test out some patches? I currently can't
really test it but in general the size data must be either available to the
legacy interface early enough or we postpone the first blank.
