I was not able to reproduce this on Words 3.1.0, I could change fonts
successfully.
You said "virtually" any font, was this not every font? I'm guessing this bug
has already been fixed, I suggest a re-test. However, if this has not been
fixed, it would be good to know which fonts you tried.
