This sort of opposite behaviour of KStars on two machines occurred also in other occasions : a feature was working on my iMac and not on my MacBook Pro. I would suggest the following : 1/ Make a complete backup of your MacBook Air with the excellent Carbon Copy Cloner. 2/ Copy your iMac disk to your MacBook Air disk (because you have probably a smaller disk on your MacBook Air, you will have to exclude photos, music ...).
