My concern is that your reputation will be tarnished by this very user-hostile move. If you think no one will mind (based on previous experience), then I guess there will be no ill effect. I still don't understand how keeping reports open is hurting anybody. I am a proponent of limiting feature requests on the grounds of having a clear product vision.
