Dear Sir,
I prefer .csv file as it can be created and edited easily using excel or
equivalent.
Export is required to understand the structure of the file.
Import is useful to enter easily a series of monthly interest or other payments
received in future or series of payments to be paid.
Such series of payments or receipts can be created as csv file using excel and
imported.

Do you have any idea which format is used by other applications? I somehow
remember that QIF had some sort of support for it. What is your use case?
